How to install Xiaomi M365 electric scooter firmware mod?

1. Verification of requirements

Before proceeding, it is necessary to have:

  1. An Android smartphone

2. Access to the internet

3. A suitable model of the Xiaomi Mijia M365 scooter

There are two models: the standard and the upgraded version. If the serial code on the front wheel is on one line, you have the enhanced version, If the SN (serial number) is on two lines, you own the standard version, this information will help us later in the software selection.

The basic requirement to use this hack is to have a “two fuse” version.
To recognise it, simply check the code (format XXXXX / YYYYY) shown on the label on the side of the scooter.

XXXXX values can be of type 5:

  • 13678 China — White
  • 16057 Youth
  • 16132 European — White
    Check battery production date — Must be after March 2017
  • 13679 China — Black
  • 16133 European Black (fuses 2)
    This is definitely model 16133

Depending on the model, the essential requirement to have “two fuses” can be verified.
FFB — Date of manufacture of the battery — must be later than March 2017

NSY — Part YYYY must show a value greater than 35000.
If you have a model with 2 fuses, you can continue operations further as per the instructions

2. Software required

Before continuing, we need to equip ourselves with the necessary software.

Firmware selection

You will find the files 7 in the ZIP package download.

The two tracks circled in green are the modified software: 200CFW.bin e200CFW_W.bin, The first one (200CFW.bin) guarantees maximum performance but tends to put a strain on the battery and motor, so it should only be used with the ‘stronger version’(See section 1 of the guide).
The five files with the orange border are old versions unmodified and useful for downgrading.

Firmware installation

1. Turn on the scooter (charged to at least 70%)
2. We launch the m365 DownG app
3. Click connect
4. Wait for the scooter to appear in the list and select it
5. Once connected, press Open Bin
6. Select the downloaded firmware
7. Press Flash Bin
8. Wait for the operation to complete.

WHAT ABOUT THE WARRANTY?

If your hardware is still working then when you connect to Mi Home you will see a message about the available update, with this solution you can easily restore the software to the factory one.
